and no, the date as to when it will arrive has yet to be released.
But further background information has been released! Irvine
Welsh, the Scottish novelist of Trainspotting,
who serves as the writer for the upcoming EDM show has released more
information on the upcoming show.
In an exclusive interview with inthemix,
Welsh said, “It’s a comedy about the rise of a DJ through the world of
electronic dance music, from humble origins to becoming a superstar DJ.”
“The idea’s to make it very character-driven as well –
you’ve got [touchstones] like Human Traffic and Project
X and that kind of territory, and Entourage is another one
too; you know, about the people that are around them,” Welsh said.
Calvin Harris will be in charge of the music and will help
with the scripting as well.
Jay-Z, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith are still on board
as executive producers.

EDM is Worth $6.2 Billion
The Electronic Dance Music global industry is worth $6.2
billion, according to Pete Tong’s International Music Summit (IMS).
As reported on YourEDM,
“IMS issued a new report
that broke down the industry into its many components and measures their worth.
The report includes revenues from major
festivals ($1.03 billion), Las Vegas
clubs ($800 million) and other
global club events ($2.4 billion), DJ
software and hardware sales ($360 million), DJ earnings from other sources ($60 million), streaming/video services ($600 million), and the total value of music
streaming services such as Soundcloud ($140 million).”
Revenue generated from the actual music (e.g., music sales,
streaming services, etc.) makes of 22.5% of the total industry worth.
This news comes after Calvin Harris was placed as the second
richest musician under 30 by The Sunday Times as well as the world’s fourth
richest celebrity by Forbes.
Jakarta Stadium Nighclub Closed Due to Death
The infamous Indonesian nightclub “Stadium” shut its doors
due to the death of Jicky Vay Gumerang, 22, a young police officer.
Gumerang allegedly took ecstasy and methamphetamine in the
lead up to his death.

reports that the club’s permit was revoked. The club was known as being “a
haven for debauchery ... dating back to the 1900s.”
The 6,000-square-meter club offered a 24-hour partying scene
with a high tolerance for drug-taking, according to The
Jakarta Post
One source in The Jakarta Post, named Tirto, 32, who is
described as a regular visitor to Stadium, said, “You could stay there (in the
private rooms) and party for as long as you wanted without having to worry
about police raids.”
The club offered a strip club as well as a brothel.
The Stadium is located on Jl. Hayam Wuruk in Central
Jakarta.
Destiny’s Child is Back for the Wub Wubs
Described as an “EDM-tinged gospel number,” called, “Say
Yes,” Destiny’s Child is back with Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle
Williams, reports Rolling
Stone.
According to Rolling Stone, their new single “reimagines the
Nigerian gospel song, 'When Jesus Says Yes,' with bouncing percussion
and punctual synths that drop into heavenly horn stabs, as well as the trio's
always potent harmonies.”
“Say Yes” will appear on Williams’ upcoming solo album, Journey to Freedom, to be released later
this year.
