Deadmau5 to Quit Clubland?

You'll all miss me when I'm gone. Squeak.

In his latest episode of Coffee Run with Tycho, Joel Zimmerman (aka Deadmau5) said he is “over” clubland.

In the video, he says, "I'm kind of getting out of clubland for a while too, I'm just over it. We try and fly in as much [production gear] as we can. We've got these two robots that do cool shit but that's it."

Coffee Run is an online series where Joel Zimmerman, aka Deadmau5, invites a special guest and takes them on a coffee run in his Ferrari.

Deorro Actually Did Quit

So long, suckers.

“If selling out means a musician making money, does that mean a cook, a painter, a designer and everyone else is a sellout once they’re paid?”

Deorro asked this question on Twitter before convincing himself that maybe he should hang up his headphones and call it quits.

Some of listed the reasons on why he’s quitting included that it keeps him away from his family, it makes it difficult to produce music that he wants to produce, he doesn't like being the center of attention, and quite a lot more.

Here are a few of his tweets below:

The Chainsmokers Bring in Bank

They told me I could be anything. So, I took a selfie.

After reaching #16 on the Billboard Hot 100, earning over 726,000 iTune downloads, and earning over 100 million Youtube views, The Chainsmokers have not only caught the attention of the public, but record labels and publishers as well.

Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart, aka The Chainsmokers, have signed a publishing contract with the largest music publisher and one of the biggest label groups, being Sony/ATV and Republic Records, respectively.

What originally started out as a joke by making the song in “literally an hour,” according to the duo’s manager, the two have now landed two deals that offer more than $1 million each.

“Some Swedish Guy” to Make an EDM Album

I can't tell you the number of men I had to kill for this.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Randy Newman said, “I’d like to do an EDM record – get some Swedish guy, have him do 700 dates ‘til he breaks, then get another one. I could write it. I think I could. Some of that’s kind of irresistible.”

In case you don't recognize Randy by his name, here's a memory jogger:

So, yeah. Expect that.

Shackleton Denied US Visa

They hit me like a wrecking ball.

UK artist Shackleton had gig commitments in a Bunker party at The Wick in New York and the Movement Festival  in Detroit later this month. Too bad he won't be able to make it.

Shackleton had to cancel his entire US tour after his Visa application was denied

In a statement, Shackleton said, "I can only express how disappointed I am on behalf of all the people who have made efforts on my behalf."

Former Disco partner, Appleblim, will fill the slot, which also features Magic Mountain high, Kangding Ray, and Løt.te.
